Research and writing
My background and training is in political theory, sociology, law and policy. I am fascinated with how communication is organised, particularly in democracies and the role of law and policy in structuring the relationships between media, public and the state. As a policy engaged academic a lot of my work is applied, and a often work with policymakers on current developments in policy not only in the UK, but in the EU and with government and regulators worldwide.
On this page, there are links to some of my recent writing - I tried to include the highlights since around 2021. You can find more in the archive section of this site.
